“You will have no other app but me”: maxi sentence for Coop 3570 of Rome

Taxi and free competition, the Coop 3570 of Rome is rejected without appeal with the addition of the confirmation of the 21 thousand euro fine already imposed by the Market Competition Authority.

This was decided by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court with sentence no. 6 of 26 April, with which it put an end to the attempt to force the taxi drivers associated with the cooperative to use the Pronto Taxi app exclusively, considering "in fact and in law" the freedom of each individual member to be able to access any technological platform to be able to work. For "Pronto taxi" it is a legal blow that establishes total freedom for each member. In fact, the Tar writes: "The AGCM provision had ascertained that the cooperative company, Pronto Taxi had implemented agreements restricting competition through the provision of non-competition clauses in relations with participating taxi drivers, thus enjoining said companies to adoption of suitable measures to eliminate the offence".
